Summer is coming and I've got "spring change-all-my-makeup fever."

I've been using mineral makeup, mostly Bare Minerals, with the occasional use of L'Oreal's Bare Naturale minerals for quite awhile now. Before that, I was devoted to Merle Norman's Luxiva Lasting Foundation, which was a great liquid.

Problem is that sometimes I feel the mineral makeup is too much for my mostly dry skin. It seems to dry it even more unless I really moisturize, prime, etc. before putting it on.

I've been reading some reviews on different foundations and they've got me wanting to try some different stuff. I've read good things about Dior foundations and Make Up Forever foundations, plus I hear an entire new line of foundations designed to go with the HD/Digital television format is coming out any time. Supposed to make you look flawless.

Any thoughts, recommendations? I'd love to hear what the chatter girls have to say! flower

I have yet to find make up that I really like. I am intrigued by the new foundations that you speak of.

I know what you mean! Why is it so hard to find something that's just right?? And, more importantly, why do I always want to try the new stuff!!?? help shakehead

I REALLY want to go to Sephora and get samples of the MUFE and Dior because they're a wee bit pricey (for me). I believe the Dior is around $60. pale

It is tough finding one that your really like. My skin for some reason doesn't lik it when I stick to one, after awhile it starts to look crappy. Right now I'm using LorealBare Natural. I do prefere Sheer cover but don't want to spend so much mula blackeye Once the BareNatural stops working I'll have to do more searching.

I really like the Bare Naturale. I don't like the stingy applicator brush that comes with it (LOL), but I like the more matte finish of the minerals. Seems to have less sheen than BE.

I've never tried Sheer Cover. I did try Physician's Formula and it was only okay for me -- not bad, but not great.

I see a trip to the mall in my near future.... blob7

I usually use BE, but got a sunburn weekend before last and wanted a nice moisturizer for my face. I've started using Kiehls Ultra Facial tinted moisturizer as my foundation and love it!

Oh how weird -- I was looking at moisturizers at the Kiehl's site just last night! They have some good ones and I was wondering which would be best for me. I'm so glad you're enjoying your tinted moisturizer as foundation! toothy7

I am really bumming about my Merle Norman lasting foundation right now. The last two times I've tried to use it, my face has broken out like y'all would NOT believe. scratch I don't get it. I've used it for years and did not have this problem.

It's making me askeerd to try other liquids, but I'm going to do it anyway. I'll just have to live with zitsus maximus for awhile.

UPDATE!

Just this week, I made it to Sephora and bought the Dior Extreme Wear Flawless liquid foundation. So far, I really love it. It is difficult to describe the finish, but I'll try. It stays well, covers well, but doesn't look like a mask. It's as if it moves with your skin or sinks into your skin without disappearing.

I also got the Makeup Forever HD powder -- two thumbs up so far on that as well. It is 100% silica powder and really sets foundation well. It is so light it really gives a soft, airbrushed look.

What are you lovely ladies wearing for your foundation this summer?

Have you seen the Sally Hansen/Carmindy makeup line? I'm so wanting to try this because I like Carmindy so much. I'm eyeing the foundation right now.

I've seen it too -- at CVS -- but I haven't tried it. I have too many foundations to use up right now because I am constantly trying new stuff, trying to find the PERFECT one. LOL
