Thought I'd start a new one....I've had a busy couple of days here...dr. appt., PT, etc.

Staples are out, incision is gross looking but will heal nicely (the PA was pleased with it), I have the ok to go to the gym for upper body work, I can shower again instead of just washing up, strength exercises have been added to my therapy, and today I got the ok for the treadmill if I don't go too fast! Yay!

I went to the gym this morning with DS at 6 a.m. and had a nice workout but got done way before he did and was bored. So at PT this morning I asked if I could try the treadmill so I can walk at the gym while DS is finishing up. It went great!

Walking outside is going good, too. I won't do it today because I did a lot this morning and I have exercises to do later today. Don't want to overdo!

Food has been ok, still just working at maintaining for now. Will get more serious about losing in another week or so. I'm not quite ready to face the scale....

Great idea Linda LOL. We just jammed February into January.

I am still on plan hanging tough. I had a big spinach salad yesterday with hb egg, chick peas and red onion. It was delish. And some wings for dinner. The scale I am still not speaking to. So no news to report there. I'm just doing what I'm supposed to and that's that.

That salad sounds good, Kelly! Good idea to stay away from the scale for now. Sometimes we just need to do what we know we need to do!

Food is ok, I had mashed cauliflower and chicken thighs for lunch....DS is getting to be a pretty good cook! He said that although he knows the basics it's been good to learn a bit more!

I'm going to head out for a walk in a few minutes. Not really feeling like doing it today so much but it's necessary and I'll enjoy it once I'm out there!

Ugh! Yesterday could have been so much better! Lots of lazy choices! Oh well, it's over....time to move on.

I'm thinking Monday is the day to haul out the scale. I really need to start being accountable again. My knee is still a bit puffy and tight but I'm not going to worry about the number on the scale...I just need a start number again. I expect it will be up...

DS has a coupon for Culver's so we'll go there for lunch...I'm getting a burger!

We have several errands to do today so I'll get some walking in.

I had a great exercise day yesterday.....25 minutes on the treadmill and weights in the morning and then at therapy in the evening, I did 7 minutes of full revolutions on the bike! I was shocked that I could do it so soon! So was the therapist! She added wall squats to my at home exercises so I'll have to do those now along with all the other stuff.

The Girl Scout cookies got the best of me! I have 2 sweet little nieces selling them and how can I say no??? Of course if I would buy the ones I don't like and give them to DH I'd be ok! I have 2 boxes left and I'm going to enjoy them....no use pretending I won't!

I sure can tell the difference in how I feel when I eat junk and not the good stuff....had too many sodas this weekend, too....back to water!

The good news is that my knee is feeling much better today!

Hi Sally! As long as you are re-starting it doesn't matter how many times....as long as you don't give up!

Not sure what I'll be eating today....I had a pb&j rollup for breakfast. I'm thinking of getting salad from Subway for lunch if DH is interested in that.

I'm hoping to do some cooking ahead today....I have to make a casserole and maybe a bunch of chicken. I cooked a big crockpot full of chili yesterday....so I'll have several choices for tonight.

Workout was good....weights, treadmill, bike time (range of motion only so it was slow) and the exercises at therapy.

Well, no Subway....leftover meatloaf and green beans for lunch instead.

We'll do Subway tomorrow on the way home from town...have to go get my BP checked again.

Dinner was dreamfield's elbows with cheese....lazy tonight.

I did get out for another walk....laps around the neighborhood.....a little farther this time. It felt good to be walking! DS went with me and said that he'd do this with me every night when he gets home from work!

I had a nap all afternoon rather than cooking....I figure I should listen to my body and sleep when it says to since it's only been 3 weeks since surgery. And rather than nap in the recliner like I used to do, I went to bed for a real nap!

We had Subway for lunch...yummmm!

Not sure what dinner will be....

Went to the gym and did treadmill, bike, leg exercises....DH set up my bike in the livingroom so I can pedal while I watch TV...DS and I are planning a street walk (3 laps) tonight after Biggest Loser....

I'm still here just not weighing or exercising like I need to. I may do something today. I feel pretty good.

Dinner tonight is london broil and sketti squash. I am curious about fixing sketti squash a different way than just butter and cheese but we'll see.

I need to fix some lunch. Not sure what. Maybe a ham steak or something.

Welcome back Sally wave Hope you are still with us.

Sorry I've slacked on getting in here. My scale and no exercise it feels like I am only eating right but that's something right? geek

I'm a slacker again, too many days off work isn't good for me. I'm going to be working a lot more starting tomorrow. They will still be 4 to 4 1/2 hour shifts but 4 or 5 days a week as opposed to 1 or 2. We could use the money so it can go to our Texas vacation fund for June.

So tomorrow I will be back on plan 100% again, I've been doing 90% but that's definitely not cutting it, to lose I have to bee 100%. I have 15 weeks to lose weight before dh's reunion and the beach.

Still hanging in there....I'm thinking it's time to get the scale out again...maybe Monday. I've been maybe 90% on plan and I suppose I need to kick it up....not sure I want to or if I even care right now...

I'm busy concentrating on healing and being able to move around like a normal person again!

Still not speaking to my scale. So I have no idea what it has to say. Trying to decide if I can get through today meatless. UGH. That is a real pain in the ass. I made a ham and cheddar quesadilla type thing last night with a lc torilla and it upset my stomach big time which just means I am way low on fiber. I need to up it. Veggies aren't enough. Someone kick my ass into some exercise too please. I don't know where to start. I'd like to just walk at the track but the weather SUCKS and LOUIS bombarded my workout area with Christmas shit again. rolleyes Oh look a bench - let's stick crap on it. Hey this tredmill looks like a great place for these boxes/ Argh.

It's time to climb back on the wagon....that means the scale will go back into my bathroom....maybe on Friday.

I signed up for the Biggest Loser challenge that's starting at the gym on April 1st.....need some focus and accountability. I talked to the trainer today and he thinks I can handle it with no problems.

I'm working on getting better with food choices. I've been mostly low carb since surgery but now it's time to do better.

Breakfast was divided...a piece of flaxbread with cream cheese before the gym and a protein shake when I got home.

Lunch will be a ribeye and veggies....not sure about dinner yet.

I'm going back to the gym tomorrow. Gonna take the same class again as I did Monday. I wanted to go today but my middle hurt so bad there wasn't a chance in hell I'd make it through. So I stretched and went for a shortish walk. Because the workout I did was weight bearing - even tho light weights - I was concerned about pushing through the soreness too hard. And a sore core can really make life difficult LOL. Crunches be damned. I am totally set to stay back at the gym though. Dinner will be off plan tonight and was last night as well but its the only meal I ate all day blush Yes I am still up to that bad trick. I am losing though. I have a tee shirt on right now that didn't fit for the longest time. It's perfectly comfy now...not even skin tight. I picked it up and thought dare I even try? I was pretty stoked it fit.

So tonight I am celebrating my Irish heritage with beer and a Primo hoagie. laughing8 Back on plan and eating more meals tomorrow I SWEAR. blush

I've been coasting along...we're still using up stuff from the freezer and cupboards...I didn't realize I had so much stuff!

Breakfast was eggs with lc toast. Pre-workout snack was lc bread with a little cream cheese and sf jam.

Lunch will be pizza noodles (dreamfield's elbows baked with pizza sauce and mozz. cheese) and dinner will be a protein shake and veggies, I think. I'll have to see how things go today. Lent is difficult when you don't like fish/seafood!

I finally got on the scale today....only 2 lbs up from the morning of surgery! Not bad at all! I haven't been sticking to plan and obviously not exercising hard so I'm really happy it wasn't worse! Now I have a start point. The Biggest Loser challenge at the gym starts next week, I think. So I'm starting to get things ready for that. DS said he's thinking of doing it, too.

Ugh! Weigh in for the challenge at the gym is tonight! I'm so not ready and I ate like crap over the weekend! So I'm sure I'll be up a lot....maybe I'll lose good between tonight and the next weekend!

I'm going to get a couple of new cookbooks to try some new ideas....I think they are more moderate carb, lower fat recipes. I love low carb but I am having problems getting it to work for me. I feel the need to try something else for a while...I will keep an eye on it to make sure I don't gain but I need to feel like I'm being pro-active in this since I'm not really making any progress lately.

I seem to be melting lately. I haven't gotten on the scale but my clothes are ridiculous. I feel a huge difference too. I've been occasionally using slim fast bars when I need to eat something now and can't cook. Its working well. They are about 20 net carbs each. I just LOVE the chocolate crunch. I have an only one a day rule tho. Keeping carbs moderate - above induction - definitely works for me. I'd say I am eating 30-40 a day.

Good luck Linda! I hope the new plan works for you. flower

Sounds like you're doing great, Kelly! Congrats!

I still haven't gotten the books I want....can't find one of them yet...looks like I'll have to go to the book store for it.

I'm beginning to think a more moderate carb level will be better for me, too. Not sure why but I'm going to give it a try. I still need to find something I can stand to eat before my workout. Lately I've been eating a pb&j wrap (lc tortilla).

Still going to the gym and doing weights, cardio, etc. Therapy is mostly balance and massage now. And it's 2x a week instead of 3x now....

Hi!

I've been on plan for just over 2 weeks now, I can't believe it! lol
I'm down about 10 lbs now, the bulk of which was the first couple of days but it's going down so I'm just going to focus on that.

Sounds like y'all are doing great!!!
